Ghost Girl

Scary ghost video!

Haunted Houses - Getting Started

I had to take some time off from my online work to get back to some family basics and just take a general break. But now I'm refreshed!

Last night, the family jumped in the car and went ghost hunting at some of our local hauntings. We stopped at Billy's Bar and Grill where a woman apparently is seen looking down from the abandoned 3rd floor window.

It is rumored that this now local bar at one time was a whore house. Not to the liking of the owner at the time she was over powered by her male employees and was unable to keep the establishment a simple tavern for the traveling loggers working on the nearby Rum River. She died up stairs in one of the bedrooms not to soon after the uprising. To this day several people (patrons & employees) have noticed tables set in the morning when arriving to work, pictures on the wall moved around, and simple cleaning tasks done when no one had actually done them. The old maid has also been seen in the bar and restaurant wandering aimlessly.

Unexplained Shimmering Moment

It started link any other day at work - I was going to another meeting just after my morning coffee at about 9:30am when a very odd feeling came over me. It is difficult to explain but it seemed to be some kind of internal resonance deep within my chest that was starting to radiate outward almost like an extension of a third chakra. As the meeting progressed so did the glow - it started to resonant throughout my entire body!

I was listening and talking to the others in the meeting but felt a lightness of being I don't think I have ever felt before. I had reached a point of such peace and tranquility that I almost floated out of the room. My entire body was now completely tuned to this feeling - I even had the urge to project this feeling to the others in the room!

It was difficult for me to have the meeting end because I wanted that feeling to last as I went back to my desk. I'm investigating what this might be and have been trying to recreate it. I'll write more later - but, it might be tied to a new product I purchased recently.

Oddly enough, just after publishing this account I found this article on Finding Your Own Inner Power. Quote: "The first step toward creating harmony and balance, and ultimately health, is to connect with the natural healing abilities of your personal energy. Your personal energy, experienced as your aura, is the life force energy that moves through and around you. The core of this life force essence within you is your soul-self. Your soul-self is the authentic essence of you. It is the Spirit of you that came into this body when you were born and will live on after this physical body dies. It is the energy source that makes up your energy field and your true being."

Boy Remembers His Past Life in WWII

This is the kind of story that I love to find!

"Four years ago for 6-year-old James Leininger of Lafayette, his parents, Bruce and Andrea Leininger, were troubled. The nightmares were coming as much as four times a week, and James would violently kick and scream with his feet up in the air. It appeared as though he was fighting with something or buried in a box, trying to get out. The only way he could escape the nightmares was for his parents to shake him awake. The nightmares were out of control.

James Leininger has been fascinated with airplanes since before he was 2 years old. But it was what James would utter during his thrashing nightmares that would make the hair on the back of his mom’s neck stand up.

“He would say, ‘Airplane crash on fire, little man can’t get out,’” Andrea says.

Andrea’s mother, Barbara Scoggin, suggested an explanation that later seemed to be the right answer: James might be experiencing a past life memory.

After reading about a counselor by the name of Carol Bowman from Pennsylvania, Ms. Scoggin explained how Ms. Bowman was an expert on a child phenomenon that was similar to what James was experiencing. Ms. Bowman had also authored a book, Children’s Past Lives: How Past Life Memories Affect Your Child, after her own son had similar problems with nightmares and strange recollections.

Andrea called her immediately. Then after several discussions with Ms. Bowman, Andrea took her advice and began to talk to James about his nightmares right after they happened. As a result, Andrea says, the nightmares decreased drastically.

“When we are dreaming, our conscious minds are not filtering material as when we are in a waking state, so unconscious material, including past life memories, emerge,” Ms. Bowman explains. “It is not uncommon for young children to dream of their previous lives. We tend to notice the nightmares, because they disturb the sleep and are often dramatic, realistic stories, as in James’ case. They are often recurring, as the child relives the same dramatic events over and over. On some level, they are seeking resolution to these disturbing memories. When Andrea acknowledged what James was remembering in his dreams – his plane crashing – it helped him move through the trauma.”

But the side effect, which Ms. Bowman expected, was that James’ statements about the crashing airplane and the man who couldn’t get out became more detailed, more real to him.
Bruce and Andrea Leininger pose for a portrait with their son, James. The parents say they believe their son has been touched by the spirit of a World War II pilot
named James Huston Jr.

Now, during the day, James began to consciously mention how “his” plane took off from the water and the Japanese shot down his plane. He even began to be more specific with plane designations and the name of an aircraft carrier that was stationed near Japan during World War II. The eerie and specific details caused Bruce to take up a research quest with Andrea’s help to disprove all of James’ “facts.”

Through all of their research, spanning nearly five years with thousands of declassified documents, personal interviews and military resources, Bruce and Andrea Leininger say they are now finally sure of one thing: Their son is linked with the spirit of a World War II Navy pilot by the name of James M. Huston Jr., who died in 1945.

Bruce and Andrea say they began to see signs of a spirit linked with their son when James was 20 months old. While moving from Richardson, Texas, to Lafayette in February of 2000, Bruce took James to the Cavanaugh Flight Museum in Addison, Texas. Andrea says planes had always been his fixation: He spent hours playing with toy planes and he would yell when he saw a real plane in the air."

Visualizing the Astral Target

One key ingredient to progressing your astral skills is improving your target visualization. A number of authors have suggested that desire and the right kind of visualization stimulate the force centers and openings to the astral realms.

To do this it is important that your target be well known and a non threatening location. Many times just another room in your home will suffice. Pick an object that you really feel a connection to or a strong desire to see. As you relax into the first deeper states of consciousness hold that desire and visualize the object. This will draw your consciousness toward it. If you are new to projecting then find a location close to your body to ease the separation and newly discovered feelings.

Note that many authors have written that your astral vision will not be the same as physical reality. Keeping that in mind will help you understand what you see when visualizing the target - the target may be distorted, flow, ebb, glow, etc.

An Astral Bubble

Received this report from a blog reader:

Last night I had an experience where I felt paralyzed. I wa sinside a bubble, above earth, miles high. I was surrounded by darkness, but... I kept hearing beautiful voices of children singing beautifully. There seemed to be hundreds of them, not around, but I could hear them in my mind. I streched my hand to touch the bubble and it wobbled. Then, I tried moving around in the bubble whereas, the bubble itself moved with me and I could "see" the darkness around me and discern a figure that seemed to be the earth--in the far distance. I could control the direction! I then, decided to break free from the paralysis (I alway do that whenI feel uncomfortable) and woke up, but my eyelids were too heavy and had a hard time keeping awake; so I moved my body for about 5 minutes and then, went back to sleep.

The Bee Season

I just finished watching the movie The Bee Season with Richard Gere and Juliette Binoche. It was quit a fascinating view of the spiritual quest for each member of a family. Gere plays a Professor of Religious studies at Berkeley with a focus on Jewish mysticism / cabbalism. When his 11 year old daughter starts to win spelling spelling bees with an almost mystical ability, he starts to introduce her to the secrets of words and sounds found in Cabbalistic thought. His teenage son is also on a spiritual quest since judaism is not providing enough. And Binoche, who seemingly has a similar ability as her daughter, is fighting her fragmented past by creating a spiritual mozaic.

This is a movie worth seeing!

Astral Privacy

Unfortunately I had to take a small hiatus away from the computer and other things due to a busy schedule and just some plain down time. However, this got me thinking about privacy and projection. I have read multiple accounts of people projecting to either other's homes or restricted areas. Take a look at this quote:

'Few interests have the protective resources of the Vatican - a certain astral traveler, trying to examine some of its secret library stacks, was met with what she reported as an impenetrable "wall of fire."'

What about government facilities?

Planet Serpo is Back

Looks like the anonymous posters for the Serpo Project are back again with updates of the Alien's written language and a list of all of the supplies that the humans took with them to planet Serpo. Check it out here!

If you didn't read about this in my earlier post - go there for a quick recap.

Next: Higher Vibrational States

So, at whatever vibrational state you are in at the first phase of being out of your body, the perception of physical reality seems to have a corresponding vibration in the first astral plane. Knowing that this state is only the first level is important to understanding how to progress to higher dimensions. As William Buhlman states, "As you progress in your explorations, you will begin to recognize a startling truth. You possess the power to move within the different energy areas of the universe by the act of focused thought. You can consciously raise and lower your vibrational (density) rate; the observed result is a corresponding change in your surrounding environment. This discovery is significant because it practically eliminates the need for external (lateral) movement. You can essentially explore any frequency of the universe without moving. The physical concepts of distance, separation, and motion become irrelevant."

Robert Bruce noted this about the higher dimensions: "This is a topsy turvy world like Alice found in Wonderland. Everything seems objective (real) but is changeable and fluid. Anything and everything can be found there, from base, coarse levels full of sexual energy; to beautiful, serene places full of spiritual harmony. Time is distorted and extended there. An hour in the Astral can seem like only a few minutes here in the physical. Compared to the physical world it is at a much higher vibration. It's like playing a video tape at twenty times normal speed, although this is not apparent when you are there.

Moving amongst the astral dream pools is usually a hit or miss affair for most projectors. It takes a lot of experience to make planned astral journeys to specific realities.
There are an infinite number of realities, planes, realms and dream pools in this dimension. As I stated before, they naturally strata and settle into pools of related thought. During sleep, or in a lucid dream, the subconscious mind usually creates one especially for you, your own personal dream theatre. When you become aware during a dream, you take control over it. This control is taken over from the powerful subconscious mind. Without its powerful controlling influence, your personal custom created realm will change. You will begin tuning into other sympathetic parts of the astral, and the reality you are in will mix with other realities and take on different aspects.
In a conscious projection into the astral dimension, you can tune into any part of it and travel into different realities, other dream pools, or a mix of many. There are various techniques for this but they all involve some way to disorient the subconscious mind, tricking it into moving you into a different Astral reality. Some projectors look at their hands and watch them melt. Others spin around, causing left right reversals. These methods all disorient the mind and trick the subconscious into tuning into another part of the astral."

First Level of Astral Projection

First levels of astral projection in the physical plane
Nico Nelson

I've been collecting accounts of what the first level of projection is like for the experiencers. There seems to be a very thin veil of reality that bridges our waking state from the first moments of leaving the body. The perception of the physical objects definitely have form yet there are unusual differences:

"..it was night time and the bedroom light was off, however the whole room seemed to be bathed in a greyish 'light'. Secondly, although I could see that I was in the natural surroundings of my bedroom, the ceiling was perhaps three or four times higher than it should have been"
http://www.paralumun.com/astralreal.htm (link is gone)

"When astral traveler lngo Swann is out of his body, he often does not see normal objects, which look to him like 'the forms of certain light rays and
ionization of the air around changing light sources,'"
http://www.llewellynencyclopedia.com/article/201

"After exiting my body I moved through the wall and floated out into the rain drenched night. What a gloriously wet feeling that was. I could feel and taste the cool rain and blustering wind passing through me. The smell of rain and wetness was everywhere, seeming to fill me with a bright and happy energy. I floated up to the roof and sat on the chimney, looking out over the town. I felt a little bit like a very wet Mary Poppins. I watched the rain dancing over the roofs and streets, swirling through gutters and gurgling into drains."
http://www.v-j-enterprises.com/rbruce7.html

"I will never forget the emotional feeling I felt when I put my hand through the door of the cabin. Then, with great excitement, I stepped though the door and onto the deck. I stood there and looked down at the city lights off in the distance, three thousand feet below. I thought, 'Now comes the real test.' In a leap of faith, literally, I closed my eyes and leaped off the end of the deck like Superman. With outstretched arms, I felt myself soaring up into the sky. A few seconds later, I opened my eyes and saw myself high above the mountain canyon. 'Wow! It really is true!' I thought, excitedly."

Caught in the Holy Grail

April has been a tough month to get back to the Astral Realm and keep working on the site, blog and other projects. Spring break was refreshing enough to get me caught up in the world of intrigue surrounding the Da Vinci Code. The book is a fun read but what grabs you even more are the speculative historical facts that surround the basis of the story. I'm currently reading Holy Blood, Holy Grail - which weaves out the details of an investigation that starts with a simple mystery and explodes into the core of the Da Vinci Code. Its definitely a deep dive into the history of the Knights Templar, Cathars and the Holy Grail - but a very good read.

Oddly enough, I had come across an excellent website on this topic about 2 years ago that detailed out the original mystery of Rennes-le-Chateau and it's priest Berenger Sauneire. Unfortunately, that great site is now gone (which really bothers me because it was an excellent informational site). However, there are a couple of other sites devoted to this that are worth taking a look at:

Of course, it always helps to have a skeptical view as well:

The Deep Theta Sound

THETA SOUND
The Theta sound is used as a guide to the Theta brain levels. If you want to know how to hear an Alpha or Theta sound can modify your brain levels read The Alpha Centering Sound
Much lower than Alpha (7 to 14 cycles per second) it´s the Theta level (4 to 7 cycles per second), and we can receive great benefits by using this level.
Each time that we activate our mind, it seeks the first place where it can function deductively. If we are meditating at an Alpha level, when we activate it, the brain goes up to Beta, but if we activate it while being at the Theta levels, then it will only go up to Alpha, where we still are at deep levels
The Theta sound can also be used to practice the mind control exercises that are supposed to be done at Alpha level, because as the Theta sound pulses at exactly half the rate of Alpha, it´s easy for the brain to have one Alpha beat for every two beats of the Theta sound.
And since the Theta sound beats at a slower rate, the brain is attracted to a lower rate of pulsing, and makes it easier to remain at alpha.
WHAT FOR DO WE NEED THETA SOUND?
The problems that we want to correct with mind control techniques must be within our reach. Our mind needs to have enough information about a problem to be able to correct it, and if we have never reached the Theta level, then it is closed to us.
Every time that we enter into the Theta level with conscious awareness, that opens that level to us, and puts it within our reach.
And if you learn to master the Theta level, you will be able to control physical pain without taking medicines.
WHAT KIND OF PROBLEMS CAN WE REACH AT THETA LEVEL?
It is said that limiting belief systems could be rooted there because they are usually seeded at an early age.
If a 5 year old child is told that he is stupid, he will simply accept it, because at that age he is not able to react deductively. He loves his parents, he belief in his parents and he just records in his brain cells what his parents tell him.
At hat age, his overall predominant brain frequency will be 5 cycles per second (children frequencies are much slower than adults), so every impression will be made at a very low frequencies.
When those levels come within our reach, then we can program ourselves to reach our goals, and if the limiting belief is rooted in theta, our mind can correct it.
There´s another good reason to open up the Theta levels to our reach, and it is to be able to work over our biological intelligence.
While psychological health problems are rooted at Alpha level (ten cycles per second), biological health problems are rooted at Theta level (five cycles per second).
Theta level is the level that the hypnotists use to have teeth pulled, and even to have surgery, without the use anesthetics.
Our body know how to heal ourselves, but many times they need that we remove the interferences to healing to let nature take care of its natural course.
ORIENT AND THE THETA LEVEL
In mind control exercises we use Alpha level, but do the yogis use Alpha level?
No, they don´t. They use Theta level.
Alpha level is good for a mind that wants to be activated, but Theta level is the level desired for those that want to practice yoga´s passive meditation.
So if you want to practice yoga, if you want to work over your life´s argument or want to practice astral travel. Then you need to master the theta levels, and the easiest way to do it is to practice with my Theta Sound CD

Mothman Revisited

I decided to read The Mothman Prophecies by John Keel again. If you haven't read it or seen the movie yet it you really should pick up a copy. It is truly a classic of UFO and Fortean literature. Fortean events tend to tie together in space and time. I happened to see John Keel at a lecture some years ago and was fascinated by the number of odd yet interesting stories he told. From his perspective it seems that if you start down the path of investigating strange and unusual things you start going down the rabbit hole. The more you think and do in that space the more strange things start occurring to you.

Many astral stories are linked by other psychic and strange coincidences. Is there a connection?  Look at this quote about sensations before Mothman sightings:
"One of the most fascinating aspects of reports of the Mothmen is the psychological effect they seem to have on people. Almost universally, those who have encountered the entities speak of them inspiring a sense of deep, almost primal, dread. This, and their perhaps tenuous link to disasters, have led some to speculate that the creatures are not actually physical beings, but instead are some kind of manifestation of a collective unconscious. The theory of the Mothman as a psychic projection is that somehow collective trauma can be a significant enough shock to the minds of those involved that the power of their collective psyches bend space and time to cause one of these creatures to manifest itself before the trauma happens. Exactly how this happens is yet to be explained."

Using the OBE Excuse?

Now I have come up with some pretty lame excuses in my day but this may take the cake:
"An Ottawa police constable on trial for shoplifting claimed in court yesterday he was having an 'out-of-body' experience at the time of the theft.
Const. Alec Moraru, 38, told court that when he hid five chocolate bars, four blocks of cheese and three bottles of shaving lotion in his briefcase at a Barrhaven Loblaws store Dec. 9, 2004, he was in a 'dream state' and seemed to be watching helplessly from above as he committed the theft and later fled from two store security officers. 'It was like being a marionette and having the strings taken by someone else,' he said. 'It was like watching a movie or being in a dream.'..."

How to Induce an OBE

Probably the hardest part of trying to have an out of body experience is the preparation to achieve the very first projection. From all of the authors I have read it is almost exclusively one thing that is most important when preparing - mental relaxation. Most people seem to focus so much on technique that the mental aspect is overshadowed. In fact, some report that the spontaneous OBE occurs unexpectedly in a different session after an earlier concentrated session of meditation and self-hypnotic periods.

Here is a list of mental/physical states from Robert Peterson - from his book Lessons Out of the Body - on OBE induction:

"Full - Full (waking) consciousness
Relaxing - Relaxing the body until you can't feel it
F10 - Body asleep / mind awake
Hypnagogic - Beginning of hypnagogic imagery (see earlier blog posting)
Paralysis - Sleep paralysis
Vibs - Vibrations are felt
Vibs Suf - Vibrations are sufficient to start the separation
Separation - The point of separation
OBE

... At each of the milestones, you may have a different state of mind. State of mind is a complex matter. There are many variables involved, such as how much emotion you feel and how much thought you are processing...If you are serious about learning to induce OBEs, but nothing seems to work, this chapter is meant to help you identify what you are doing wrong. For example, maybe your mind is too noisy when you practice...strive of that perfect, quiet, contemplative state of mind, and let it happen."

Twisting vs Rising

The other night I was determined to leave my body. Unfortunately it was late and I was very tired. Now, I've followed two forms of the initial steps to start the process. One advocate says that you must relax, and then start imagining that you are twisting your astral body back and forth until it separates. Many times it starts as if you are twisting at the waist and feeling like your body is going to split in half. Then there is a shimmering and a flinging sensation.

The other method that I've encounted is trying to direct your energy straight up from your 'third eye' and then trying to move your spirit parallel to your head as if you are shooting from the top of your head. This is similar to just trying to push your astral body right out the top of your head. For example, you can feel the energy in your solar plexus move up your spine to the top of your head and then concentrate on the vibrational feeling. Sometimes this feeling is noted to be like the bed is starting to float.

Proving Life After Death

A leading cardiologist , Dr Pim van Lommel — who has become convinced of the existence of life after death after hearing his patients’ experiences — is talking about his research and beliefs at a major conference in London in March. He has become the first medical practitioner to risk his reputation with a full, systematic trial into the phenomenon. He interviewed 344 heart patients at his hospital in the Netherlands who had all clinically died, some for five minutes or longer, before being resuscitated. Of these, 62 — or 18 per cent — reported some ongoing experience after the medical monitors had pronounced them to be dead. Half were aware they were ‘dead’, and 15 had out-of-body experiences where they were aware of the actions of the hospital staff around the body. One patient was able to tell staff who were looking for his dentures that a blond nurse had removed them, and had been put them on a tray on the other side of the room. Since that initial study, which was published in the prestigious Lancet medical journal in 2001, Lommel has resigned his post as a practicing cardiologist to devote his time to further research and lecturing on Near Death Experiences. Are All Ghosts Really Ghosts??

Kevin Dooley - Creative Commons
I came across a passage in a book recently that totally floored me! I had never even considered this thought before and was naturally wondering why it had never crossed my mind. Are ghosts only spirits of those who have passed away or are they also living astral bodies that have traveled to another location? Here is a couple of examples:

"'I [a professor] resolved to try whether I could project my astral body to the presence of A [his fiancee]. I did not at all know what the process was, but I opened my window, which looked toward A's house, and sat down in a chair and tried as hard as I could to wish myself into the presence of A. There was no light in my room. I sat in that state of wishing for about 10 minutes. Nothing abnormal in the way of feelings happened to me.' The professor visited his fiancee the next day. She immediately told him that she had seen his apparition at 10 the previous evening while eating dinner. She had looked up from her meal to see the gentleman staring at her through the dining room door."

If we can project our astral bodies to other locations what then is the difference of that and ghosts? When spirits of the dead appear and attach to earthly locations there is some kind of equivalent tie to astral travel. In some ways I find this close to remote viewing but with a twist. Now, it would be interesting to see if any travelers have been able to sense ghosts astrally as well as physically. I have not found a reference to this yet.

Astral Technique - Willing Yourself Out of Your Body

GPS - Creative Commons
Can you really will yourself out of your body? The concept of dynamic willing was one of the first written techniques of astral travel by a French occult researcher, Charles Lancelin. The book, Methodes de Dedoublement Personnel, written in 1908 describes the techniques of concentrated willing may be one of the best ways to induce an OBE. This technique has been somewhat overshadowed in various popular books on the topic mainly due to newer means of spirit travel via meditation, proper body position and time of day. Focused will, according to Lancelin, seems to drive the person to spontaneous OBEs.

Sylvan Muldoon found that conscious will really seemed to be a form of suggestion to unconscious desire if focused long enough. With enough suggestion being part of your conscious focus you can find yourself spontaneously leaving your body. Now, will may not be enough. However, it may lead to greater ability in the future.

From many of the sources that I have read, having a strong affinity or emotion for the destination of your OBE is critical for the novice traveler. Perhaps the home you grew up in or someone you have strong emotions for can be the target to finally lift you out. I sense that many times the first OBE is a startling experience without a travel from source to destination – just suddenly being somewhere and knowing that you’re in the astral or hyper special world!

Serpo and the Twelve Space Travelers

One of my side interests besides the main topic in this blog is UFOs. I have been researching the UFO phenomena for about 30 years now and have read just about every book on the topic. About once every five years another hot UFO story hits the press and creates a massive buzz. If you remeber we had the following buzzes:

1. Roswell NM UFO Crash
2. Hypnotic Regression and UFO Abductions
3. Cattle Mutilations
4. MJ-12
5. The Face on Mars
6. Crop Circles and UFOs
7. Rods
8. Alien Autopsy
9. Area 51

and the list goes on and on. But, recently a new thread has emerged that may take the cake for the ultimate UFO story - Project Serpo.

Last November an anonymous poster on a UFO forum claimed to be a retired US Government employee who has decided to come out and release the story of Project Serpo - which states the following:
1. There were 2 UFO crashes in the late 1940s - not Roswell.
2. A surviving ET or EBE was found in the 2nd crash.
3. The EBE claimed to be from the Zeta-Reticuli star system (Betty and Barney Hill tie-in).
4. The EBE had a communicator and was able to negotiate a comm link between its home planet and Earth to setup an exchange with the US Government.
5. Twelve military trained specialists were exchanged with one EBE in 1965 and sent to Serpo - their home planet.
6. They stayed on the EBE's planet for 12 years and returned in 1978
7. Eight returned, 2 died on the planet and 4 stayed behind.
8. The EBE on Earth taught us some of their technology and language.
9. All members of the mission have since died (last one in 2002).
10. Journals, photos and de-briefings still exist about Serpo but are highly classified.

Don't believe it? Check out the Serpo Project online.

Here's a quote: "In 1965, we had an exchange program with the aliens. We carefully selected 12 military personel; ten men and two women. They were trained, vetted and carefully removed from the military system. The 12 were skilled in various specialities....The returnees were isolated from 1978 to 1984 at various military installations. The Air Force Office of Special Investigation (AFOSI) was responsible for their security and safety."

How Weird Can It Get?

You think you've seen it all? Take a look at this site that combines reality, myth, astral projection, UFOs...what else can mix into this! There are also some references to underground tunnels. If you don't remember - some time back there was a hubbub of news about residents in a New Mexico town hearing weird noises underground called the Taos hum. I have to admit it is very strange. Listen to it here. Could it be one of these machines?

OBEs and UFO Abductions

Just how close are alien abductions to out of body experiences? It seems like a very far fetched idea but don't be so sure. If you read much of the material from UFO abduction researchers such as John Mack, Budd Hopkins and David Jacobs you will start to get the feeling that many of the accounts have strikingly similar descriptions as OBEs.

Sometimes alleged abductees can break out of an abduction by shear force of will. This seems to be a clue of its non physical nature. Could there be other clues? Looking at the varied testimony of abductees, one gets the sense of commonality from report to report. One person stated that she was transported through her apartment wall. While others felt someone take them 'by hand' into waiting UFO's. Whitley Strieber, in his book 'Transformation', writes about his attempts at astral travel and the similarity of that experience to his abductions. Strieber writes, 'Of the 690 narratives sent to me by Communion and Transformation readers, only a few appear to support these present theories of abduction. The vast majority instead describe perceptions and experiences far stranger than any reported by mainstream abduction researchers.'

UFO researcher, R Grossinger, notes the inability of contactees to distinguish between the concrete or real and the psychic or hallucinatory. He posits that we may be dealing with both levels of reality thereby creating the current paradox of conflicting abduction testimonies.

Perhaps there is hope that some form of technology will be able to project your astral spirit effortlessly!

Proving Reincarnation?

Recently, I came across a book written in 1918 by Arthur Conan Doyle called "The New Revelation". It was his first book concerning his views on spiritualism and psychic phenomena. I found it fascinating to read, as much of the "proof" that he gathered and retold regarding "life" in the afterlife is still the same as what our psychics, mediums, and other metaphysical researchers of today tell us.

The fact is, we've been receiving proof of an afterlife for centuries. People throughout time have talked about angels, visitations from spirits, ghost entities, poltergeists, and communications from beyond. Stories of reincarnation continue to flood in, many from young children who wouldn't have had access, nor the understanding, to imagine and produce some of the tales they tell. With our modern medicine and life-saving medical equipment, the occurrences of near death experiences are being brought into the open more and more often. Really, how much more "proof" do we need?

And yet...skeptics still abound. What's more interesting is that various polls and statistics indicate that approximately 80% of the world's population believes in: life after death, that we have a soul and that it continues to exist after our "physical" deaths, that there is a Heaven, and that there is some sort of creator who watches over us. Out of the 20% left, about half are sitting on the fence and haven't made up their minds on what to believe. That leaves just 10% of human beings that we need to "convince and show proof too." In which case I need to ask this question... Why do we need to prove anything to this very small minority of people?

As I mentioned at the beginning, I had just finished reading Doyle's "The New Revelation" (you can read the entire book online at our website). While reading, I came across a very interesting statement that he made and one in which we should all think about:

"...we have reached a point where further proof is superfluous, and where the weight of disproof lies upon those who deny. The very people who clamour for proofs have, as a rule, never taken the trouble to examine the copious proofs which already exist..."

Isn't that an interesting remark made by someone almost a century ago? "...where the weight of disproof lies upon those who deny..." The proof has been all around us forever and most of us know this. And yet, here we are in the twenty-first century STILL trying to provide proof that there really is a spiritual realm. How about we put the burden of proof on the disbelievers and have them DISPROVE the existence of an afterlife? The reality is that they can't - there's too much evidence that indicates that there is more to the existence of "life" than our physcial senses can comprehend. Think about it. Has anyone shown you absolute proof that once you die, that's it, game over, nothing more exists? Yet, skeptics constantly spout this theory. Well, if this is true, where's the documented research and proof?

Is there life after death? The thousands upon thousands of thoroughly investigated and documented metaphysical cases point to the fact that there is definitely something beyond the material experiences of our physical realm. The believers in a spiritual afterlife really have nothing left to prove. It's time we turned the tables and required that the disbelievers prove to the majority of the world that life ends with our physical death.

Oh, by the way, good luck with that.

Dreams and WWII Reincarnation

Frankly, I find my dreams pretty interesting when I'm keeping track of them. I have discovered that if you keep a dream journal right by your bed at night you can easily recall many more of your dreams from that evening that you wouldn't normally remember. I can start writing about the last dream I had when waking up and that triggers an avalanche of additional ones.

I've had some odd dreams in my life with a constant theme. It seems that many of my dreams take place during WWII and I am a German soldier. Once when I was about 12 years old I had a vivid dream and remember being the in Africa Corps. I was lying on the back of a truck with a leg wound. To this day that dream seems like a reality. In another dream state I was hiding in Berlin trying to escape someone - but, I don't know who.

Oddly, my father is an American WWII vet and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Now if you believe in reincarnation and karma - just what could it mean if his son was a reincarnated German soldier??? Here is another person's account of a WWII reincarnation that is truly amazing!

Children Remember Their Past Lives

I went to a lecture some time back where the guest speaker was a Dr. Robert Salt who is doing some research on the past life rememberences of children. It was quite fascinating and there was much more material out there than I knew about.

Dr. Salt noted that the one of the top pioneers in this field is Dr. Ian Stevenson who has done a significant amount of scientific work on the search for evidence of reincarnation. In his book Twenty Cases Suggestive of Reincarnation Dr. Stevenson relates the stories of children who can remember their past lives directly without hypnosis or past-life readings. It comes as stories from the children - e.g., remembering being a 25 year old mechanic and dying in a car crash. What is truly amazing is that the child's story continues with the names of the family and the location of the crash which become verifiable facts. Dr. Stevenson has compiled much of his research in India as well as many other countries. Definitely a must read for anyone!

Buzzing, Clicking, Vibrations in the Hypnagogic State

I know I can attest that when you are nearing what is called the 'Hypnagogic state' - the state of being between asleep and awake - you can start to feel odd vibrations and sound within your head. From all of the literature I have read on the subject of Astral Projection almost all sources state that this state is the crucial moment to leave the body.

Many times this is preceded by sounds in the head - a kind of buzzing sensation that feels oddly like someone is stretching a rubber band from your head and plucking it with a sudden feeling of falling back on your pillow. There are other cases where people hear a sound like chimes or bells just at the moment of unconsciousness. Others hear things like 'horrendous gushing sounds', 'weird ringing/buzzing noises', 'rushing to roaring up to sounds in the upper frequency scale like whistling', and 'very low hum, like a fog horn'.

William Buhlman in the link above says this is a normal state when you start entering a vibrational state just before an OBE. Erin Pavlina also notes this:

"When you feel that tingling sensation all through your body, and you hear the high pitched whine or ringing in your ears, that is what – I mean, I’m not a physicist – but what I believe is happening is you’re raising your vibration, you’re raising your frequency and you’re falling out of phase with your body. So, your spirit, your soul, your consciousness is pulling and separating away from your body, which is at a much lower frequency – a much lower density.
Now, what generally happens from this place is people get scared or they get freaked out and they simply don’t move. This can also happen during sleep paralysis, which is where you wake up but you cannot move at all. You can see, but you can’t move.
This is actually the moment when you want to try to astral project, because what’s happening is when you feel the tingling and when you hear the ringing in your ears, you have already separated from your body."

Mantras and Projection

I have been doing a bit of research lately on how to induce an astral experience using mantras. Now, what are mantras you might ask? A mantra is a sacred verbal formula or combination of syllables that is repeated over and over again and which has religious or spiritual significance. The use of mantras derives from Hinduism, the word itself deriving from the Sanskrit word 'man' which means 'to think'. The sounds are supposed to mirror the source of all things and the original movements of creation. Although mantras often has devotional significance, they are also used as a meditative tool for developing concentration and removing the noise of day-to-day life within the mind. Many different sounds have been used as simple mantra including the word 'Buddha' to help keep the mind concentrated.

Tibetan monks used very elaborate and systemized techniques to invoke a OBE within the practitioner. Yoga, Tantric Buddhism and Cabalism all have forms of ritual chanting that scholars and witnesses say lead to systems of leaving the body. Cuno Muller described a mantra practice in Die andere Welt that describes a mantra method - a recitation of letter combinations: DC, CK, EF, EK, BF, CR, DR, EB, BD, BN and CU. The first set of 4 are repeated for 5 minutes and the second set of 7 recited for 10 minutes in a cycle of seven repetitions. The only problem with Muller's information is that the exact pronunciations are not given and it is assumed that the combinations are in Hebrew. So, the combination would be daleph-chaf/chaf-kaf/(e)fay/(e)kaf beth-fay/chaf-rash/daleph-rash/(e)beth/beth-daleph/beth-noon/chaf(u). What is exact pronunciation is a mystery.

Other mantras exist as well and there are many documented cases of strange and enlightening effects from this practice. Any comments on this would be appreciated.

The Power of Remote Viewing

An interesting article!

By Teresa Edwards
Remote Viewing is a psychical activity developed by various countries, including the Soviets, and used as a term by the CIA and the US military to define a psychic intelligence gathering activity. The origins of Remote Viewing are somewhat shrouded by its clandestine origins and there are various accounts.
In Remote Viewing, the viewer is given a target which is placed in a sealed envelope. This target is not physically identified or viewed by the subject, who attempts, nonetheless to connect with the object, in a protocol that somewhat resembles hypnotic induction. Remote Viewing embodies a procedure that attempts to induce the subject into an altered state of consciousness. Once induced, the subject then allegedly separates from his body and attempts to connect with the target through the “astral plane” or “ether.” In many ways this, component of Remote Viewing is almost identical to astral projection, which is being used to acquire information for intelligence operations.
Remote Viewing is said to have begun in 1970 in a CIA-funded project. Shortly afterwards, research began at the Stanford Research Institute in Menlo Park, California. At this time, researchers Russel Targ and Harold Puthoff worked intensely with New York artist, Ingo Swann, who has recently written Superpowers of the Human BioMind, which is available on the Internet, which includes his purported true account of the history of Remote Viewing.
The next steps involved the formation of Detachment G, a group developed to study Remote Viewing; the initiation of INSCOM, an Army Major Command that governed Remote Viewing activities; the development of Gondola Wish, which attempted to monitor enemy uses of Remote Viewing, followed with the development of a working, intelligence collection group at Fort Meade called Grill Flame. In the late seventies, Grill Flame was integrated with SRI’s experimentation with Remote Viewing.
In 1981, Brigadier General Albert Stubblebine, III assumes Command of INSCOM. The next year, Ed Dames, an intelligence officer who would ultimately play a large role in the publicizing and privatization of Remote Viewing, begins to use Grill Flame as a source of intelligence information. That same year, Ingo Swann discovers new and more powerful Remote Viewing Protocols.
In 1983, INSCOM connects with the Monroe Institute and starts sending recruits to take the Gateway Course to learn the art of astral projection. (see article on Astral Projection). That same year, Ingo Swann begins to train four US Army officers and a female civilian in Remote Viewing. One of those Remote Viewing officers is Edward Dames, CPT. Later on, Dames will be one of the trainers of Mel Riley, Lyn Buchanan, Gabrielle Pettingell & Dave Morehouse.
After his military work in Remote Viewing is over, Dave Morehouse decides to break publicly expose the existence of Remote Viewing to the private sector, a feat for which he pays heavily as record in his book, Psychic Warrior (St. Martin’s Press, 1996). Although Morehouse is not particularly successful in these efforts at the time, it is Ed Dames who becomes the major spokesman for Remote Viewing through Art Bell’s late night radio show. Dames rather disturbing, apocalyptic visions eventually leading him to the nickname of Doctor Doom. Ed Dames actively teaches and explores Remote Viewing’s possibilities. Private companies like Britain’s Paranormal Management Systems and America’s PSI TEK continue to explore the Remote Viewing World.

Etheric Exit Point on the Body

I have read many books and articles on Astral Projection from a number of sources. One question that always comes to mind is 'what part of the physical body does the astral or etheric body leave from?' In most cases people describe leaving from the top of the head..."The chief means of leaving the body is through the head, they maintained, and sometimes the projector will experience him or herself spinning out the of the body...His cas studies include 29 incidents in which the reporters specifically described leaving the body through the head. These were physical sensations, too, and not just images. Having experienced this phenomenon myself, I can vouch for how stunning this effect can be. It often feels as if your inner self were being sucked out right through a hole in the top of your head!"

Reincarnation

It must be argued that the concept of reincarnation and the astral body must have somewhat the same origin. My belief is that the spirit evolves over time by passages from body to spirit and spirit to body. Most theologies that support reincarnation tend to believe in Karma - the concept that your actions in this life will affect the next. In some ways I would agree with this but not in the same way that Hinduism does. I don't believe the path to light or darkness means you pay or are on a similar road in the next life. I think your reincarnated life is a new experience - ways to explore the world in another complementary way. Like evolution and change in nature I believe the spirit grows and evolves as well - close to the beliefs of theosophy.

I found an interesting article on the origin and condemnation of reincarnation in the Christian church.

Astral Info from a Channeled Spirit

There probably isn't a single source of material that I have encountered in my life that has had such an impact as Jane Robert's Seth books. Coming from a scientific background many think my endorsement of this material is not sensible and downright irrational. What can you expect when information is provided by a channeled spirit? I'm not sure but I think the Seth material has lost a lot of its popularity over the last 25 years. It was very popular in the late 70s and early 80s in certain circles. However, once Jane Roberts died and new material wasn't available the interest began to wane.

For those of you who aren't familiar with Seth I can direct you to this Seth site to get the full details. But in a quick overview - Seth is a channeled spirit, or, an energy personality essence independent of Jane Roberts but from a higher dimension. Ms. Roberts started receiving messages from a Ouija board in 1963 and eventually began to dictate them directly. What's unusual about all of the Seth material is how it resonates with my perceptions of the inner world. Most areas of interest are dimensions of reality, consciousness and its affect on reality, dreams and astral projection and the nature of mass events. You may have seen the books, Seth Speaks or The Seth Material. I'm, of course, especially interested in the first hand accounts of their out-of-body (OBE) experiences. If you read the book, Dreams & Projection of Consciousness, you'll get a great quite a few first hand accounts.

The Seth books were the inspiration for my interests in astral and out-of-body experiences when I was young. Jane Roberts died in 1984 but her husband, Robert Butts, continued to publish her works.

'Dreams...' is a fascinating read for anyone since it deals with the early years coming to grips with a channeled presence and astral projection. Highly recommended.

Wartime Astral and OBE Experiences

With the current Iraq war going on I've been searching for any OBE or NDE stories from veterans or partipants from past wars. This has not been an easy task since there seems to be a reluctance to publish these accounts on the web.

Here is an unusual account from the Korean war which I think typifies a very standard NDE and OBE combined but with quite a bit of religious overtones. However, it is also seen as a past life rememberence which makes it difficult to relate as a person's living experience. War experiences abound out there and I assume there are many astral stories yet to be told.

Being Pulled from Your Body

I recently came across this message and started wondering about the feeling of being pulled from your body. Looks like there are quite a few experiencers out there who have felt this kind of sensation. Check out Deb's testimony (link is gone - though this one is similar). She seems to have some sort of 'helper' that wants her to fall out of her body. Now, many see this a some kind of malevolent being - however, I think the fear of the experience tends to create a feeling of being out of control which projects as something bad or evil.

I would love to hear from any others who share this experience and what their feelings are on those 'helpers' - are they benevolent or malevolent?

Tunnels to Other Realities

Holes or tunnels to other realities?

Many accomplished projectors have explored new worlds via similar cosmic holes. Robert Monroe, for instance, spent many of this astral journeys in the "higher worlds." He describes his discovery of these cosmic tunnels in his Journeys Out of the Body. His initial discovery occurred whitle he was OBEing from his bed one night. Next to his bed he found a hole. "That's the only way to describe it," he writes. "To my sense, it seemed to be a hole in the wall which was about two feet thick and stretched endlessly in all directions." The brave explorer peered through the hole, but could not see anything but darkness, so he returned to his body.

Or, from the Astral Dynamics site on astral dimensional tunnels:

"Astral Plane-Type Structure - a flat, two-dimensional plane of infinite proportions, usually first seen as if from a great height, with the plane's surface seen below extending to all horizons. The surface is covered in thin, black, neatly spaced, horizontal and vertical grid lines, making for a neat, checkered appearance. These grid lines outline squares that cover the entire surface. Each square contains a single, identical multicolored geometric pattern, repeated endlessly in every other square.

Astral Tube-Type Structure - a more complex tunnel or tubelike structure, containing internal grid lines and geometric patterns, often brightly colored. The grid lines and patterns are internal, thus are not as easily viewed in their entirety as with the astral plane-type of entrance structure. Projectors also usually hear a rushing sound, musical notes, tones, and other sounds as they move through an astral tube. These sounds are, I believe, part of the obviously more complex astral tube structure. Moving through a tube usually produces a rushing sound; each exit point passed often produces a change in sound or tones and melodies or a series of complex musical notes."

The Afterlife Experiments

You have to read this book!

From Publishers Weekly: Schwartz (The Living Energy Universe), director of the Human Energy Systems Laboratory at the University of Arizona, proposes "working with a group of top mediums who have consistently received messages, supposedly from the dead," to investigate whether or not there is indeed life after death. Armed with consummate authority (e.g., logic, scientific research and the focus of a recent HBO documentary), the book progresses through the lab's findings. Of particular fun are the session transcripts, which include running commentary provided by lead investigators. (One sitter describes a medium's performance as "dead on.") That their data will convince readers, the authors believe, is a foregone conclusion: "[E]ven skeptics will begin to evolve as a result of these findings." Yet the story comes off like high-grade magic or a splendid infomercial. Despite the reliance on experts (such as magicians, scientists and videographers), the narrative has the suspect tone of a sideshow barker. All the same, Schwartz embraces an admirable passion for curious knowledge and adamantly resolves to uphold his survival-of-consciousness hypothesis until research proves otherwise.

The Seth Material

I was reading Seth again and always find it to be a great source of astral material and instruction. If you haven't read any of the Seth series of books I highly recommend them. Here is a quote about the levels of the astral world:

"...forms one, two and three. Form one will spring out of an ordinary dream state. In spontaneous projections, you may become conscious in form one, project, return to the ordinary dream state and from there project again several times. You can expect these particular projections to be difficult to interpret now....your excursions with form one will be within your own system, largely connected to the earth, although past, present and future may be involved....If you realize your are projecting, you may simply order any unpleasant phantams to disappear, and they will do so. In form two you will not, as a rule, encounter any subconscious phantoms. Ordinary dream elements will not be as frequent, nor will they intrude as much. A longer duration projection is possible. The vividness is extraordinary. Here you will begin to perceive quite clearly constructions that are not your own, where earlier these are but dimly glimpsed....Some [constructions] will exist in your future. Some may have existed in your past, and some where thought of, but never materialized....You may find yourself in a room with certain people....It is possible for you to project yourself into one of your own future landscapes."

-Seth Session 262, May 25, 1966

The Search for Bridey Murphy

I remember when I was about 8 years old a teacher(who would be fired today in the politically correct world) played the audio tape of the hypnosis sessions with Ruth Simmons a.k.a Bridey Murphy. If you are not familiar with this case it probably stands as one of the first true new age breakthroughs mixing hypnosis and regression with reincarnation. To me this is just a consistent part of the astral realm. This tape is one of the things that got me interested in this phenomena. Under hypnosis she regresses to a past life in Ireland (Bridey Murphy being her Irish name - her real name is Ruth Simmons) and reveals details that were verified as historically correct. If you want to read about it; here is the link- The Search for Bridey Murphy

Oddly enough, while writing this article I came across this product -Past Life Regression Software (no longer offered) that claims to unlock your past life. Looks pretty interesting.

Even Seen your Parallel?

A story: a couple "had gone out to dinner with friends and were sitting in the restaurant bar when Don...left the group and moved into an empty stool in one corner of the barroom. Bernice said that she'd let him go so that he could be alone for a while...but that a few minutes later she'd looked up to see Don in animated conversation- with himself! Laughing affectionately, she'd pointed this out to their friends. However, when they drove back home that evening, Bernice said that she'd started to tease Don for talking to himself...and he reacted with angry astonishment. "What do you mean, talking to myself?" he demanded. "For God's sake, I was talking to that old guy all night long!" "What old guy?" Bernice asked, puzzled. "I didn't see any old guy-you were sitting by yourself." Stunned, Don had yelled at her to "stop making stupid jokes!" Bernice said that it took some doing on her part to convince Don that she wasn't up to some elaborate put-on. Don had seen and talked with "a very nice old fellow" for a couple of hours, and as far as Don was concerned, the old guy was as real as Bernice and their friends. "Don said that for some reason, he just spilled all his problems out to this old man,"..."He said that he didn't know why he thought a stranger would care, but the old man listened very carefully and asked him some smart, thought-provoking questions." .p130 Conversations with Seth

Do parallel lives and universes exist? Have you ever encountered a dream or even reality of a parallel life? In a many worlds view of the physical universe perhaps this is not so far fetched.

Astral and Physical Dimensions

I was thinking the other day about the word 'dimension' and how it is used by both scientists and by those who work in psychic or astral realms. Many times we hear or read of the dimensions experienced by those out-of-body. Even though it sounds like a very subjective experience, the description seems to make sense to the traveler. As one becomes more experienced traveling the dimensions of our physical plane seem to dissolve when moving to other realms.

On the science side of things we see physicists now talking of a many dimension universe - concepts like hidden dimensions, parallel universes in branes (that's a new term for a 3D universe in a multi-dimensional reality), holes through dimensions, etc. My question is where do these overlap? When someone experiences a new dimension out-of-body and can sense the astral component of a physical object (such as moving their hand through a door or a wall), what really is that component? Will science come to the realization that the dimensions of consciousness are mixed with the dimensions of our physical world?
